FAQ
You may have questions before booking. Please contact us via the webform, or give us a call to discuss. Below we have listed some of the common questions that you may find helpful.
Yes, you can. We accept self-referrals for diagnostic scans. You can share the results of the scan with your doctor or your physiotherapist.
We see you at Trinity Medical Imaging clinic, located between Sutton and Croydon. It’s a 5-minute walk from Carshalton Beeches train station. On-site car parking is also available. See Contact for more information.
The length of the scan may vary dependent on the complexity. During your appointment, we also accommodate time to talk to you so that we can tailor the scan to your needs and discuss the results after the scan. A standard appointment is for 20 minutes.
We discuss the results with you at the time of your scan. You also receive a written report, that will be emailed to you on the same day.
In addition to the muscle & joint scans, we also have doctors offering scans of the abdomen, pelvis, neck, thyroid, DVT scans, male and female scans. Please contact Trinity Medical Imaging.
Yes. We offer all the routine steroid injections. They are performed with the help of ultrasound guidance to ensure the effective and safe delivery of the steroids. For steroid injections, it would be of great help to have a referral or just a letter from your doctor or physiotherapist about the diagnosis.
You should bring a list of your regular medicines.
You can usually perform all your daily activities normally. In some cases, there might be initially increased pain for a few days, in which case you might choose to take a rest.
After the injection, it is advised not to drive for 24 h, to allow the local pain killers to wear off.
The types of scans with examples of classic abnormalities are listed on the Ultrasound Scans page. We are also happy to discuss directly with you if you are unsure. It can be helpful if your GP or physiotherapist has advised you to have a scan.
